Veronica’s Snacks- Guilt Free Snacking!

I have quite a severe savoury tooth. While some turn to chocolate, I turn to crisps as my snack of choice, so I was delighted to receive a tasting hamper of Veronica’s Snacks! I got four varieties; Barbeque (potato based), Sour Cream, Herb and Onion (potato based), and the veggie based variety came in Roast Garlic & Mixed Herbs and Roast Tomato and Spanish Paprika flavours.

ImageThe first thing that struck me when I dived into the crisps (as well as the beautiful branding) was that they were not what I was expecting. I had tasted baked vegetable crisps before and for some reason, that’s what I thought these crisps would be like. These were, however, a new taste experience for me, and had a wafery texture which I have not experienced in crisps before. Once I got my head around this, I dived in and I was amazed by how light they were, and nice and crunchy too.

ImageWhat I find with most “healthier” crisps/savoury snacks, is that flavour seems to be compromised and for that reason I usually wouldn’t opt for that style. Veronica’s snacks however, are full of flavour, and nicely salty too which I think is crucial in any savoury snack!

ImageThese crisps are gluten free, have 60% less fat than regular crisps, and are low in salt. I’m still trying to get my head around how they manage to pack in so much flavour bearing all this in mind!

Leaving aside the fact that these are gluten free, Veronica’s would definitely be high on my list when deciding what crisps to buy in future. I’m already looking forward to buying some more and making a big bowl of hummus to snack on over the weekend ๐Ÿ™‚
